Blumenthal Arts seeks a passionate and collaborative School Impact Manager to lead dynamic educational programs that connect students and educators with the power of the performing arts. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced arts education professional to manage flagship programs, while building strong relationships across schools and the arts education community. The ideal candidate brings creativity, organization, and a deep understanding of theatre education to a role that is both strategic and hands-on. This pivotal team member will play a key role in advancing equity, access, and impact across Blumenthal’s education efforts. Occasional evenings and weekends are required for events and special initiatives.
Your impact:
Professional Development Initiatives and Arts Educator Network
Responsible for managing the Education Department’s professional development initiatives for educators within the Charlotte Region with specific focus on supporting regional arts educators and elevating the performing arts in education.
Build a supportive network amongst area performing arts educators.
Program Management
Oversee programs including Junior Theater Celebration, School Shows, The Arts Educator Network, Blumenthal L.E.A.P.,The Blumey Awards, and Professional Development Keynotes and Workshops.
Conceptualize and pursue creative opportunities to engage students through a variety of programs created and managed by the Education Department.
Establish a full schedule of events for a variety of programs each season.
Seek opportunities to increase engagement and broaden reach with intentional focus on equity, access, and inclusion.
Reserve appropriate venues and request all set-up needs, confirming details with appropriate Blumenthal departments and other organizations/companies when events occur in other-than-Blumenthal-managed settings
Coordinate logistical details for all staff, volunteers, and guests participating in programs and events, providing schedules, directions, parking, and other details as needed.
Create and implement marketing plans for programs, including email campaigns, social media, and general website maintenance.
Represent Blumenthal’s Education Department at designated events, acting as liaison between the public and Blumenthal.
Support outcome measurement for initiatives and collaborations; including research and data collection.
Create programs guide and expansion materials.
Set program participation goals that align with department goals and funding.
On-going program assessment and refinement.
Maintaining program documentation including surveys, feedback, participation statistics, photos and videos as well as communicating information to marketing and development.
Contract and Financial Responsibilities
Strategically define and maintain designated program budgets.
Negotiate contracts with guest artists, including full execution of contractual arrangements.
Manage credit card reconciliation reporting.
Create invoices for external partners (e.g. schools, community organizations, etc.) to ensure timely payment when appropriate.
Collaborate with Group Sales on ticket orders and reporting.
Work in partnership with Community Impact and Partnership team to generate and implement funding plans to support strategies, including support for Annual Campaign and grant writing activities.
Relationship Development and Enhancement
Works with the Chief Education Officer in collaborating with Marketing, Programming, and other departments as needed to contribute toward successful BA programs, events, and festivals.
Works with the Chief Education Officer in preparing and conducting planning and other meetings with teachers, school district arts leadership, and organization leaders for the purpose of exploring new initiatives and enhancing current programs as well as developing and fostering relationships.

Skills You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in theater arts, theater education, or related field.
At least 5 years of experience in theater education or programming.
Theater education experience required, preference for experience in a school setting.
Program development and management
Strong communication skills
Event planning experience
Budgeting and contract coordination
Relationship-building with educators
Physical Requirements:
Primarily sedentary role with prolonged periods sitting/standing
Requires visual acuity for reading and computer tasks
Requires use of hands and fingers for typing and handling office equipment
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
Ability to walk between office and theater venues in Uptown Charlotte
