Join our team as the Stage Director of our Annual School Musical!
Are you a passionate educator who loves creating theater magic with elementary and middle school students? Do you enjoy working with large ensembles of children of all ages? Are you excited to be part of a community that values the contributions of every child just as much as artistic excellence? If so, you might be a great fit to be the Stage Director for our annual spring musical!
What You’ll Do
In collaboration with the Musical Production Team and under the supervision of the Head of School, you’ll work to:
Collaborate with the Production Team to finalize a rehearsal schedule (see below)
Collaborate with the Production Team to develop and implement the set design, costume design, and prop design for the musical
Block and rehearse all scenes in the musical
Collaborate with the Music Director to ensure songs are performance-ready
Collaborate with the Student Choreographer to block all dance numbers
Collaborate with the Technical Director to create a run sheet for the stage crew
Collaborate with the Audio Technician to create a mic sheet for the show and ensure the audio needs are met
Stay in communication with the Production Team and students’ families about relevant topics
Schedule
The Stage Director is expected to be in attendance for all performances and any scheduled stage rehearsals. Collaboration meetings begin in December, after-school rehearsals begin in (January or) February, and performances are in May. More information will provided as requested.
