The Department of Theatre at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) seeks outstanding faculty members for two Assistant Professor (both retirement replacements), nine-month tenure-track positions beginning August 2024. One position is Lighting Design and one Scenic Design.
Successful candidates will teach a variety of undergraduate courses within the Design/Technology track and some of the department’s core courses, design and/or oversee students in creating designs for four mainstage shows and two Student Lab and oversee the team of staff and students working with them. All tenure-track faculty are expected serve on department, college, and university committees. These positions are high contact hour positions with the expectation of hands-on mentorship in production.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MFA in Design and/or Technology
Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and scholarly productivity
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Strong preference will be given to candidates with a secondary specialty in any allied area of design or technology.
