Compensation:
• $375-$450 per week, depending on experience, paid in arrears on the 15th and last day of each month
• FREE employee housing in Breckenridge
• $75 weekly food stipend
Description:
The Stage Manager is an integral part of the concert production team. This exciting group works closely with the Music Director, musicians, and guest artists in a thrilling and fast paced environment to produce exceptional musical performances. The Stage Manager leads a group of eight work-study crew members to ensure all equipment necessary for rehearsal and performance is correctly and efficiently set-up prior to services and safely and securely stored when not in use.
The Stage Manager reports to the Production Manager and works alongside the Recording Engineer, and two Production Fellows. This position will regularly communicate with the Director of Operations, Production Manager, Orchestra Manager, Music Librarian, and all festival staff regarding production needs for venues, equipment, and personnel.
What You Will Do:
Assist the Production Manager in the daily functions and production needs of the festival including but not limited to:
Creation of stage plots for all orchestra services
Manage the set-up of chairs, stands, instruments, podium, lighting, sound, risers, and platforms for all concerts and rehearsals
Coordinate backstage room signage and sign-ups with Orchestra Manager and Artist Liaison
Responsible for safe and proper set-up of all orchestra rehearsals and performances
Supervise the stage crew (musician work-study)
Assist with stage changes, microphone hanging, and additional venue technology
Assist the Recording Engineer with set-up and strike of recording equipment and live amplification
Assist in all production efforts necessary for runouts and performances
Assist in transportation of all production and percussion equipment including library boxes for all events and rehearsals
Other duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile:
Previous experience with instrumental ensemble and/or orchestral work required.
Previous stage manager experience a plus
Applicant must be able to handle confidential situations with an even-tempered and professional approach
Must work well under pressure, prioritize effectively, and be detail-oriented
The job requires manual labor: lifting or moving trunks and equipment weighing up to 75lbs and transporting these trunks and equipment by use of a hand truck to the stage or transport truck for runouts
This job may require driving large vehicles: valid driver’s license is required
Must be able to provide your own computer
