Saddle River Day School seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly creative teacher to fill the position of Lower and Middle School Music and Theater Teacher for the 2023-24 school year.
The ideal candidate will have an impressive background in both music and musical theater, will possess excellent classroom management and communication skills, and will be versed and proficient in the use of the latest technology related to music and theater education. The teaching duties will include directing the Lower School Choir and Middle School Choir, teaching the general music classes for grades Pre-K3 through 4, serving as the music director for the Middle School and Lower School musical theater productions in the spring, and directing other Lower and Middle School theater productions in the fall and winter.
The work hours of the position will be from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. to cover the hours of the after-school rehearsals for the theater position. (Our school day begins at 8:00 a.m.). Support for the after-school theater productions will be provided by the school’s Theater Coordinator and the Chair of the Performing Arts Department.
