Schechter Boston is looking for a dynamic and engaging Elementary School Music Teacher for the 2023-2024 academic year. As a member of the music faculty, this position teaches PreK, Kindergarten and Grades 4-5 during the school day. This is a .65 FTE position.
Additional opportunities exist in our robust After School program as Music Director for our After School musical theater shows (Mondays, 3:15-5:30pm, and one additional day TBD), and as a private lesson music teacher teaching in our After School Music program. The Music Teacher will be part of the creative and collaborative Schechter Arts Department that includes visual art, music, film and theater.
Job Description:
Design, plan and implement a developmentally appropriate music curriculum.
Prepare and implement differentiated instruction, activities and assessments that meet the needs of every student.
Build relationships with all students, so they are actively engaged in the music classroom activities
Participate in ongoing cycles of reflection, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree required.
Minimum of two years experience teaching students, preferably in an elementary school setting.
Exemplary teaching skills
Collaborative, adaptive mindset with the ability to work across teams and departments
Strong classroom management skills
