The primary role of the Recording Engineer is to oversee all recording and amplification aspects of the festival. This person is an integral member of the concert production team. This exciting group of young professionals work closely with the Music Director, musicians, and guest artists in a thrilling and fast paced environment to produce exceptional musical performances.
The Recording Engineer reports to the Production Manager and works alongside the Stage Manager, the Assistant Production Manager, and two production fellows to ensure proper set up and care of all audio equipment. This position will regularly communicate with the Director of Operations, the Orchestra Manager, the Music Librarian, and all festival staff regarding audio production needs for venues, equipment, and personnel.

What You Will Do:
Manage all aspects of the recording studio including but not limited to:
Operate and maintain sound recording equipment
Record all performances and rehearsals
Compile and edit performance recording samplers for the needs of the NRO, including radio broadcasts, grants, and sales
Assist in all production transportation efforts as necessary for run-out performances
Manage pre-season and post-season set-up and strike of all recording equipment
Comply with the needs of the Riverwalk Center staff in terms of striking any unused recording equipment during non-NRO events
Run multiple recording devices simultaneously to ensure no lost performances
Some front of house and live amplification duties
Oversee live amplification for Community Engagement events
Train and guide the Production Fellows to assist with recording and live audio needs
Create audio advance sheet for production packet
Provide quality customer service; customers defined as all stakeholders
