Located on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, the BU College of Fine Arts School of Music celebrates its 150th anniversary this year as America's first music degree-granting institution. BU alumni are members of nearly every major symphony orchestra in the United States and are recognizable leaders throughout the world of music. Our alumni include composer Missy Mazzoli, opera singer Morris Robinson, music critic Anthony Tommasini, conductor Lina Gonzalez-Granados, and music director Lan Shui. Today, the School of Music trains musicians, educators, composers, and scholars in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Each year the School produces hundreds of major public concerts, recitals, operas, and performances.
