Laguna Blanca School is a college preparatory, coeducational day school located on two campuses in Santa Barbara, California. Grades EK-4 are located on a bucolic campus in Montecito, while Grades 5-12 are located on Laguna’s historic campus in Hope Ranch. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team-Teach two sections of 6th Grade Performing Arts Foundations (PAF) and co-coordinate Spring performances with Theater Instructor.
- Serve as the Vocal Director for the 7th-12th Grade After School Spring Musical. This includes participation and support with auditions, leading and co-leading after-school rehearsals, and attendance at tech rehearsals and the final performances. Responsible for the direct instruction of all vocal parts for the show and working in collaboration with the Director, Music Director, Choreographer, and Production Team to support the show and students, including one on one student instruction and production meetings outside of rehearsal time.
- Serve as a member of the applicable grade-level team(s) of teachers meeting on a regular basis to plan, develop, and coordinate student support in alignment with the mission of the school
- Communicate progress and concerns with tact and professionalism to parents and, as appropriate, other faculty, staff, and/or Head of School
- Ability to differentiate and inspire a wide range of learners
- Effective classroom management skills
- Actively participates in a collaborative environment with other teachers
- Strong communication and organization skills
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Direct instruction of students in Middle and/or Upper School grade levels in a school setting.
- Background in vocal instruction and musical theater
- Piano accompaniment skills to support classroom learning and school performances
- Experience preparing shows, organizing performance opportunities, and working collaboratively with other performing arts teachers
- Fluency with email, Google Suite, Microsoft Outlook, etc.

EDUCATION
- Degree in Music or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Teaching Credential is preferred, but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Must be able to traverse school facility and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency
