| The Urban School seeks a choral music teacher to join its dynamic arts department for the 2021-2022 school year. This position includes directing the Urban Singers, a large (~45 students) schoolwide chorus, as well as other ensemble groups; teaching an introductory 9th grade chorus class; teaching music theory; and participating as music director in our yearly musical theater production. Concerts and other performances occur throughout the year. The school is seeking an energetic, creative individual who has enthusiasm for working with high school students and a commitment to the continued growth of a dynamic music program. The successful candidate will work closely with the performing arts department chair, theater teacher, and other music ensemble faculty. Collaboration will be especially close around the musical theater production. High school teaching experience, a broad repertoire, and strong digital skills are all a plus.
