PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Tucson Symphony Orchestra
The Tucson Symphony Orchestra (TSO) seeks a President and Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization and to promote its mission and vision.
The Tucson Symphony Orchestra
Founded in January 1929, the TSO has become one of the most vibrant musical organizations in the American Southwest, performing for audiences in Southern Arizona and beyond. The orchestra is known for its artistic excellence; our world class conductor, Jose Luis Gomez; and rich educational programs including the Young Composers Project and Music in the Schools. In response to Covid-19, this TSO season features our musicians in streamed performances through the TSO Up Close program and coming this spring our TSO on the Go mobile stage. The orchestra has an annual budget of $4.5 million, supporting two concert series—performed by a total of 47 core and 37 per performance musicians. The concert season typically runs from October through to May.
The President and CEO Position
In tandem with the Board of Trustees, the President and CEO will develop and oversee the implementation of goals and strategies that advance artistic excellence, ensure financial stability and growth, maximize community relevance, and ensure organizational efficiency. In collaboration with the Music Director and staff, the President and CEO will create the necessary resources, then communicate and implement a programmatic vision that ensures that the TSO is relevant to the Southern Arizona community and is positioned as a leader amongst symphony orchestras.
