ob Posting: Director of After School and Summer Camp Programs Rodeph Sholom School, a Reform Jewish day school, seeks to fill the position of Director of After School and Summer Camp Programs. RSS fosters intellectual curiosity through a challenging independent school academic program in nursery through eighth grade. At the heart of RSS is a warm, vibrant community, where students are guided by Jewish knowledge, values, and ethics to become self-confident and socially responsible leaders.
The Director of After School and Summer Camp is a full-time position that promotes a high quality program of after school classes for RSS students throughout the academic year as well as the school’s summer camp, open to the public, from June through August. This position is responsible for the planning, scheduling, creating, and management of the day-to-day operations of after school and summer camp programs, including staff hiring and coordination; curriculum development, execution, and evaluation; and ensuring the health and safety of all participants.
He/she must align programming with the needs and interests of the RSS mission and community including students, parents, faculty, and administration. The Director of the After School and Summer Camp Programs will work collaboratively with the school’s Business, IT, Marketing, Development and Admissions Offices to maximize the success of all programs. In addition, s/he will work collaboratively with the Athletic Director, Music Director and Middle School Play Director to coordinate schedules. This position reports directly to the Associate Head of Rodeph Sholom School and will attend Senior Cabinet meetings on an as-needed basis. The chosen candidate will start work on or before July 1, 2020.

Candidates must hold a BA or BS in a related field. A master’s degree is preferred. Candidates should have experience with extra-curricular programming and/or summer camp for children in Nursery through Fourth Grade. Classroom teaching experience is preferred. Candidates must be organized, self-motivated and able to navigate multiple constituencies and complex schedules.
