The Cleveland Orchestra is currently seeking a part-timeConcert Assistant who will provide backstage services for guest artists and guest conductors, including the Music Director, during Cleveland Orchestra performances, and for visiting artists and ensembles during rental events at Severance Hall.
Primary responsibilities of this position include ensuring that artists are familiar with the backstage area and are onstage for rehearsal at the appropriate times when called; ensuring that all dressing rooms are cleaned and ready prior to artist arrival, including but not limited to creating dressing room signs, refreshing towels, and calling hall staff for cleaning of dressing rooms; responding to artists’ requests and needs, such as arranging for food or coordinating their backstage guests; and escorting and accompanying artists to events as needed (i.e. CD signings, post-concert receptions).
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED
Outstanding concierge service skills with guests including hospitality, local information (places to eat, shop, etc.)
Superior interpersonal and communication skills
Superior organizational skills, attention to detail
Demonstrated independent, mature judgment
Ability to consistently maintain a professional image and calm demeanor
Ability to work independently and as a team leader
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and some holidays
