MUSICAL THEATRE LECTURER:
The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a non-tenure-track, three-year renewable position, beginning August 2020, pending budgetary approval. The successful candidate will have considerable experience in musical theatre performance with an expertise in vocal-coaching large- and small-scale musicals, and experience in teaching college-level musical theatre. This position will provide instruction, coaching, and support for the performance, academic, and production programs. The ability to serve as a musical director as well as the ability to teach introductory non-musical acting courses is highly desirable. Lecturers are expected to attend faculty meetings, serve on committees, interact with the off-campus community, and participate fully in the administrative duties of the Theatre Arts Department.
Qualifications: An MFA is preferred. BFA or BA will be considered with significant professional and teaching experience; evidence of at least one year of successful college teaching experience; demonstrated professional-level artistry in field of musical theatre. Strong written and oral communication skills required.
