About Young Artists Philharmonic
The Young Artists Philharmonic (YAP) is a regional youth orchestra serving Fairfield and Westchester counties. Founded in 1960, YAP is dedicated to transforming young lives through the power of classical music. With three orchestras ranging from ages 7 - 18, YAP provides a comprehensive classical music education in an orchestral setting to over 100 young musicians.
Students rehearse on Monday evenings under the batons of experienced conductors, and receive small ensemble coachings from a roster of accomplished masterclass artists. Concerts take place at the recently constructed Greenwich High School Performing Arts Center, and every three years the orchestras travel to Carnegie Hall to perform in the world famous Stern Auditorium.
