Job Description | Green Acres School is seeking a part-time teacher of drama to 7th and 8th grade students. The role includes producing and directing (along with a musical director) a stage musical in the spring that incorporates between 30 and 40 students of different ability and experience levels.
The successful candidate will get kids acting. In the fall, the responsibilities include two drama classes that meet twice per 6-day cycle each. Students engage in imaginative play, improv, character work, and scene studies as a part of these classes. This includes coaching actors, blocking movement, simple choreography, and assisting the musical director with songs. Other than those two evening performances, all other on-campus drama work finishes before 10:45 in the morning.
