Cornerstone University Division of Music in Grand Rapids, Michigan invites applicants for a full-time tenure track, assistant professor of music position beginning fall 2019.

The Cornerstone University music program is housed in the Division of Communication, Media and Music. With the addition of new music, performance and chapel facilities in 2015, this close-knit program is poised for growth. The Music Division offers the following degrees:
Bachelor of Arts -
Music: Worship Arts
Bachelor of Music -
K-12 Music Education
Performance: Commercial Music
Responsibilities of the Director of Music Programs include leadership for the music program. Working in close collaboration with the chair of the Communication, Media, and Music division, the director will oversee academic planning/curriculum development, budget management, adjunct hiring, assessment and networking with community shareholders. The director will further assist the chair by providing facilitative leadership and oversight of the specific and often unique demands of a music program including staffing, instruments, equipment, dedicated spaces, ensembles, juries, recitals, recruitment, scholarships, etc.
Other responsibilities include teaching music courses dependent upon the candidate's qualification and needs of the division.
The preferred candidate will have a doctorate in music (masters required), significant conducting and instrumental performance experience, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate will be a mutually supportive team player with a commitment to academic rigor, spiritual formation and discipleship. Evidence of ongoing professional activity in Music is strongly recommended.
